A BCA (Body Composition Analysis) is a quick, painless scan that shows what your body is made of, beyond weight or BMI: skeletal muscle mass, body fat in kilograms and as a percentage, visceral fat around the abdominal organs, total body water, muscle and fat for each arm, leg and the trunk, and your basal metabolic rate (the calories you burn at rest). It uses bioelectrical impedance: a safe, very low electrical current passes through hand and foot electrodes and the machine computes your composition in about 60 seconds. Dr. Basavaraj uses these numbers to build your personalised plan.
